3/10/2019 0 Comments Our story Somewhere in Eastern Europe, in a country called Bulgaria, under the highest peak of Rila Mountain, there is a small town by the name of Samokov.
A tradition there has been passed on for centuries. That tradition, almost a secret ritual, was taught from generation to generation by our grandmothers to their daughters, to their grand daughter, and on and on... That tradition is called knitting and I was brought up as part of this never ending, at least I thought so, livecycle. Growing up thought, I’ve watched it slowly fading away. In a fast moving world, where the post industrial society is kept occupied by office jobs, social media, traffic and a battle for an everyday survival, the divine connection between the generations is being broken! So, our grannies have no one to pass the tradition to... I found myself really saddened by this. And I decided to do something about it. That's how Oldessey came to life. This is my attempt to give back to the world what my granny gave me. Warmth! Coziness! Love! And a little hope that we won't forget the practical knowledge tested by time that our grandparents have. Let's keep that spiritual bond and remember what is like to have a handmade piece of history crafted by the collective wisdom of what was before ... and will be after.
